The Cultural Coalition is pleased to announce that the fifth  annual Make Music Day Southeastern CT, part of a global music  celebration that takes place on the summer solstice each year, is on  track to have more than 60 live, free music performances across the  region.

www.MakeMusicDay.org/southeasternCT is where to find details and  register as a musician interested in performing or for locations  interested in hosting one or more performances. Many performances will  be held outdoors, but can be inside - due to weather or venue  preference.

Local retail shops, restaurants, museums, and several libraries are  planning performances with host sites and musicians being added to the  schedule daily. Some venues have already confirmed multiple performances  throughout the day, including:

Garde Arts Center Under the Marquee - Performances from 2:00 pm - 6 pm

Old Lyme Arts District - Performances from 5 pm - 7 pm along Lyme Street

New London's Whale Tail Stage - Performances from noon to 8:00 pm

Acton Public Library in Old Saybrook - Performances from 10:30 am - 6 pm

Custom House Maritime Museum in New London - Performances from noon - 2 pm and 4 pm - 8pm

A wide-range of genres is already represented - jazz, folk, blues, rock,  pop, country - from solo musicians, duos and groups including: Braiden  Sunshine, Hugh and Dana, Nickelodeon barbershop quartet, Those Guys, and  the New London Community Orchestra.

The schedule, which is updated daily, is online at www.MakeMusicDay.org/southeasternCT .

Participating locations will have signage indicating they are a Make Music Day venue.
