"In 2020, we passed the Merchant Mariners of WWII Congressional Gold Medal Act and presented the Gold Medal to all Merchant Marines at a ceremony last Spring.
The past weekend, at 101-years-old Russell finally received his medal from the nation he bravely served 80 years prior."
