Rep. Joe Courtney, a U.S. Congressman representing Connecticut's 2nd district since 2007, has recently voiced his opinions on various issues through social media posts. His remarks touch upon the dismantling of the Department of Education, economic uncertainties caused by federal policies, and support for local sports teams.

On March 20, 2025, Rep. Courtney criticized President Trump's order to dismantle the Department of Education. He expressed concern that such an action would undermine students' pathways to success and weaken the nation's future workforce. "To dismantle the Department of Education is to dismantle the pathways to success local students use every day to build a rewarding and family-sustaining career."

The following day, March 21, 2025, he thanked @ConnAFLCIO for hosting him at a town event in Groton. During this gathering, he addressed the uncertainty caused by President Trump's tariffs and other economic challenges such as tanking retirement accounts and threats to job training programs. "Thanks to @ConnAFLCIO for hosting me for a town in Groton last night."

Later on March 21, Rep. Courtney extended his well-wishes to Eastern Connecticut's college basketball teams participating in March Madness. He praised Eastern Connecticut as "the undisputed College Basketball Capital of the World." "Good luck to the Men and Women Huskies at March Madness!"
