Rep. Joe Courtney highlights achievements in education, military recognition, and veteran healthcare

Rep. Joe Courtney, a U.S. Congressman representing Connecticut's 2nd district since 2007, has recently shared updates on various achievements and initiatives via social media. His posts highlight significant accomplishments in education, military recognition, and veteran healthcare.

On November 19, 2024, Rep. Courtney congratulated Norwich Free Academy social studies teacher Jessica Chapman for receiving a national Milken Educator Award. He commended her dedication to creating an engaging classroom environment for her students in the 9th and 12th grades. "Congratulations to Norwich Free Academy social studies teacher Jessica Chapman on receiving a national Milken Educator Award! Jessica goes above and beyond to create a nurturing classroom environment and spark engagement from all students in her 9th and 12th grade classes."

On November 20, he acknowledged the CT National Guard’s 103rd Airlift Wing for being recognized with the Major General Stanley F.H. Newman Award as the top airlift wing in the Air National Guard. He expressed his long-standing belief in their excellence which was affirmed by this recognition from the National Guard Bureau. "Last month, the CT National Guard’s 103rd Airlift Wing was recognized with the prestigious Major General Stanley F.H. Newman Award as the top airlift wing in the Air National Guard."

Later that day, Rep. Courtney shared news of joining a bipartisan coalition to pass a significant package of veteran health care improvements through the Senator Elizabeth Dole Act. This legislation aims to enhance access to community and home-based health care services for veterans."Veterans deserve a VA that works well for them. This week, I joined a strong bipartisan coalition to pass a landmark package of veteran health care improvements."
