United Way Holding Second Annual Benefit Cornhole Tournament

United Way of Southeastern Connecticut is hosting its second  annual Cornhole Tournament to benefit its network of health and human  service Partner Programs.

The family-friendly tournament takes place on Saturday, September 17 at  United Way at 283 Stoddards Wharf Road in Gales Ferry from Noon – 4 p.m.  Both competitive and casual players and teams are welcome. Numerous  trophies and awards are presented, and food and beverage trucks will be  on-site.

“We are looking for folks to come out and support our community while  having some fun,” said Bill Louis, President of the MDA-UAW Local 571  and Immediate Past Chair of United Way’s Board of Directors. It was  Louis who first created the idea to host a cornhole tournament at United  Way.

“This fundraiser will provide support to United Way Partner Programs who  help to those in need in the community each and every day,” Louis  continued. “Come out and enjoy the day along with other great people  looking to make a difference. You can make the difference for families’  lives today and tomorrow.”

The cost is $30 per person or $60 per team. If you register as an individual, you will be paired with a teammate.

Register for the event at www.uwsect.org/cornhole.
