Graduates earn 210 degrees from the United States Coast Guard Academy

About 53.3 percent of the 210 degrees and certificates handed out by the United States Coast Guard Academy in 2017-18 were to students in engineering programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in London conferred 112 bachelor's degrees in engineering programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general political science and government. Data shows the school gave out 39 bachelor's degrees in general political science and government, followed by 34 bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering and 33 bachelor's degrees in oceanography, chemical and physical.

The academy enrolled 1,071 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
