– Friday April 29th Local LGBTQIA+ service organization, OutCT to host its first health and wellness symposium with title and theme Piece of Mind. The one-day conference will focus on the Emotional, Spiritual, Social, Physical, Sexual and Mental health of people who identify as LGBTQIA+ and their families and/or allies.
Event organizer, Vice President and Education Chair, Chevelle Moss-Savage is an educator and mental health therapist who brought the idea of a health fair for the LGBTQIA+ community to the board of directors of OutCT when she first joined the board three years ago.
The Health Symposium will include
- Keynote speakers including an address from Robin McHaelen, MSW and Elijah Manning of Inclusive Education LLC
- Workshop topics including LGBTQ rights, COVID-19 resources, nutrition, spiritual, family, and financial planning and much more
- Wellness Room with various forms of calming and centering modalities
- Breakfast and lunch provided
- Opportunities for networking and resource sharing
- Vendors and giveaways
The event will be held at Three Rivers Community College in Norwich CT. The event is held from 9:00 am-4:30 pm. Event is free and open to the public. Participants are asked to register by visiting www.outct.org
