Cost of college went up for all students at Three Rivers Community College

In-state tuition and fees rose 2.5 percent for 2018-19 at Three Rivers Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Connecticut residents paid $4,464 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $108 more than the $4,356 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 196 percent more than residents this year, or $13,212. Their price tag grew 2.5 percent from $12,888 in 2017-18.

About 99 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Connecticut residents. And about 1 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 68 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 305 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.6 million and 23 students took out student loans totaling more than $97,833.

Including all undergraduates (3,997), 2,389 students used grants or scholarships totaling $10.2 million, and 161 students took out $776,809 in federal student loans.
