Seven members of the Connecticut College men’s and women’s basketball programs were named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams, according to a March 25 announcement from the college.

The recognition highlights student-athletes who have excelled both on the court and in their academic pursuits. The award is given to those who demonstrate strong performance in games as well as maintain high academic standards.

On the women’s team, Mia Xerras received her second consecutive honor, while Catie Hurley and Sydney Marshall were selected for the first time. For the men’s program, RJ Casey earned his second career selection. Garrett Clar, PJ Johnson Jr., and James LaFrance each received their first recognition.

To qualify for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least sophomores at their institutions, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and have participated in at least 90 percent or started two-thirds of their team’s contests.

The CSC Academic All-America program acknowledges honorees across four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. Those selected for Academic All-District advance to consideration for Academic All-America status. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America honorees are scheduled to be announced in April.
