Rep. Joe Courtney, who represents Connecticut’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates and statements on his official Twitter account covering local infrastructure, energy policy, and a response to a national tragedy.
On September 9, 2025, Courtney posted about ongoing developments at the U.S. Coast Guard Museum construction site. He wrote, “Exciting to see the progress of the U.S. Coast Guard Museum construction! The following day, September 10, 2025, Courtney addressed concerns regarding federal review processes for renewable energy projects. In a tweet he stated, “The Revolution Wind offshore wind energy project was extensively reviewed and vetted by the Department of Defense. Now, an amendment to the annual defense bill in Congress would require the project to be re-reviewed by DoD. This would prolong an unjustified halt work order by the”, referencing legislative actions that could delay clean energy initiatives.
Later that evening on September 10, Courtney commented on recent political violence: “I’m horrified by the murder of Charlie Kirk. Political violence is never acceptable. I’m praying for his family during this heartbreaking time.”
Joe Courtney has represented Connecticut’s 2nd District in Congress since 2007 after succeeding Rob Simmons and previously served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from 1987 to 1995.
