Joe Courtney has been a member of Congress since 2007, succeeding Rob Simmons. Prior to his congressional tenure, he served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from 1987 to 1995. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, in 1953, Courtney currently resides in Vernon. He received his BA from Tufts University in 1975 and a JD from the University of Connecticut in 1978.
