Rep. Joe Courtney, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 2nd District, shared his recent engagements on social media. With over a decade of service in Congress since taking over from Rob Simmons in 2007, Courtney continues to be actively involved in community and legislative matters.

On April 17, 2025, Rep. Joe Courtney highlighted the development of the New London Community Recreation Center. He stated, “The New London Community Recreation Center is going to be a transformational addition to the city, right on the Thames River at the historic Fort Trumbull site. Thanks to Mayor Passero and Director of Recreation Joshua Posey for giving me a tour of the building.”

Later on the same day, Courtney actively encouraged his audience to tune into a broadcast or event with a succinct prompt, “Tune in now!”

On April 19, 2025, Courtney shared a more pressing concern in his communications, where he joined a cohort of 150 colleagues to prompt action from the President. He declared, “I joined 150 of my colleagues in urging President Trump to follow the law and obey the unanimous Supreme Court ruling to bring Mr. Abrego Garcia back home to Maryland. Time’s up.”

Joe Courtney, age 70, was born in Hartford, Connecticut, in 1953, and resides in Vernon. A graduate of Tufts University and the University of Connecticut School of Law, he previously served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from 1987 to 1995, bringing extensive experience to his Congressional role.
