Rep. Joe Courtney, U.S. Congressman representing Connecticut’s 2nd district since 2007, recently highlighted local agricultural initiatives, federal policy changes, and educational milestones in a series of posts on his official Twitter account.
On May 18, 2026, Courtney shared his visit with a local farm owner: “It was great to catch up with Susan Mitchell, owner of Cloverleigh Farm in Columbia. Courtney has represented Connecticut’s 2nd District in Congress since defeating Rob Simmons in 2007 and previously served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from 1987 to 1995. Born in Hartford in 1953 and currently residing in Vernon at age 70, Courtney holds degrees from Tufts University (BA) and the University of Connecticut (JD).
