Rep. Joe Courtney, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 2nd district, has recently shared his views on various issues through a series of tweets. Courtney, who replaced former U.S. Congress member Rob Simmons in 2007 and previously served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from 1987 to 1995, has been vocal about his stance on the hyperpartisan budget bill and support for law enforcement.

On May 17, 2025, during National Police Week, Rep. Courtney commended Enfield police officers who participated in the Police Unity Tour by biking nearly 300 miles from New Jersey to Washington, DC. The tour was conducted in honor of officers killed in the line of duty. Following their ride, he welcomed them to his office with congratulations on their accomplishment.
