Rep. Joe Courtney, a U.S. Congressman representing Connecticut’s 2nd district since 2007, used his social media platform this week to address civic engagement, international security concerns, and military commemoration.
On September 16, Courtney highlighted the importance of voter participation by marking National Voter Registration Day. He wrote, “Today is National Voter Registration Day! Casting a vote and participating in our democracy is how we shape our nation’s future. Register to vote here: https://t.co/9uvmVHb80u And verify voter registration here: https://t.co/fdRgPXz9wQ https://t.co/RnRhN6LSQi”.
Later that day, he addressed recent developments in Eastern Europe involving Russia and NATO allies. On September 16, he posted, “Last week, Russia launched its largest drone attack on Ukraine since the start of its full-scale invasion and then flew drones into the airspace of two NATO allies – Poland & Romania. Also last week, I joined a bipartisan effort to block a totally misguided measure to cut off https://t.co/pxY0qvt7o1”.
On September 19, Courtney commemorated the anniversary of the U.S. Air Force with another post: “Happy 78th birthday to the U.S. Air Force! Since 1947, U.S. Airmen have ensured our national security in the air, space, and cyber domains. https://t.co/5LVFcTAlEa”.
