Rep. Joe Courtney, who has served Connecticut’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2007, shared several significant updates through social media posts. His communications highlighted recent developments benefiting both local agriculture and military sectors.

On November 18, 2024, Rep. Courtney announced a positive development for Connecticut farmers. “Great news. The Biden admin just sent a robust request to Congress that will help our farmers recover from natural disasters.” He emphasized the impact of weather events on farms in Connecticut and acknowledged the efforts of his colleagues in securing this aid.

A day later, on November 19, 2024, he extended congratulations to the Connecticut National Guard Flying Yankees for receiving an upgraded C-130H plane equipped with new NP2000 propellers. “Congratulations to the CT National Guard Flying Yankees on the first upgraded C-130H plane with new NP2000 propellers – delivered by the highly-skilled workers at @CollinsAero.” Rep. Courtney noted that funding for this upgrade was secured by the Connecticut Congressional delegation.

In another post made shortly thereafter on November 19, 2024, Rep. Courtney recognized Collins Aerospace for receiving the Patriot Award due to their support for employees serving in the Guard and Reserve. “This event also recognized Collins Aerospace’s Patriot Award for their exceptional support for employees serving in the Guard and Reserve.” He expressed gratitude towards Major General Evon and Colonel Byrne among others for hosting a commemorative event.
