Connecticut College announced on Mar. 18 that 143 of its student-athletes have been named to the 2026 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Winter All-Academic Team.
The recognition highlights academic achievement among athletes, requiring honorees to be sophomores or above, in good standing with their sport, and maintaining a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale as of the end of the fall semester. Transfers must also have completed one year at their institution.
This year’s total marks the highest number of Connecticut College selections in the winter season since the award began 26 years ago, surpassing last year’s record. The college had representatives from all ten eligible sports: men’s basketball (6), women’s basketball (11), men’s hockey (21), women’s hockey (14), men’s swimming and diving (14), women’s swimming and diving (16), men’s squash (3), women’s squash (1), men’s indoor track and field (25), and women’s indoor track and field (32).
The NESCAC was founded in 1971 and is made up of eleven liberal arts colleges: Amherst College, Bates College, Bowdoin College, Colby College, Connecticut College, Hamilton College, Middlebury College, Trinity College, Tufts University, Wesleyan University, and Williams College. The conference emphasizes both athletic competition and academic excellence among its member institutions.
